KBL - Harness Description List

The VDA Recommendation 4964 - KBL ("Kabelbaumliste") / Harness Description List defines a data model and a XML schema for the exchange of harness design data between OEM and supplier. The following documents are available

The current release is KBL 2.3 SR-1. If you have downloaded KBL 2.3 before December 22, 2005, you should get this minor update.

SR1 corrects some problems found in the initial release of KBL 2.3. For more information, see the change notes.

KBL XML Schema

KBL V2.2 files can be converted to KBL V2.3 by an XSL provided here. You need an XSLT processor to apply the style sheet to a KBL XML document. XSL transformation is part of many XML tools. There are also stand-alone processors available, e.g. Xalan-Java.
